CLASS STYLES FOR EVERY BODY

Gentle stretch

Breathe & Release

A slow-paced class which focuses on calming your nervous system with deep breathing exercises and gentle stretches. You will learn to use a variety of props including blocks, straps and the yoga wheel to deeply release tension in your mind and body. Suitable for all levels of practice, particularly beginners.

GENTLE FLOW

Realign & Relax

A slow flow class where all movements are connected with the breath to create a ‘moving meditation’ practice. There is a focus on alignment and technique as we connect stretching and strengthening poses with the breath. There may be an option to practice arm balances and inversions – every pose can be modified to suit yogis with different levels of practice.

Vin-Yin

Strengthen & Stretch

The best of both worlds, combining the ‘yang’ of a vinyasa class with the ‘yin’ of yin yoga. The first half of the class focuses on building strength and heat in the body with a vinyasa flow, before winding down with yin yoga poses for a deep stretch. A great way to experience both styles of yoga in one class. Suitable for all levels of practice.

Yoga Trapeze®

Energise & Decompress

Like a cross between aerial yoga silks/slings and TRX training bands, the Yoga Trapeze® combines elements from both of these practices. You get the improved flexibility, circulation and decompression from anti-gravity poses, as well as strengthening and toning from TRX-inspired drills. Learn more about Yoga Trapeze® classes here.

YOGA CLASS FAQ

What style of yoga are the classes?

Our classes are Hatha-based vinyasa style classes. This means the poses and philosophies taught are based on Hatha yoga foundations, but are linked together in a vinyasa flow style.

I have never done yoga before. Can I still join the regular group classes? What if I can't keep up?

All of our classes are general-level and can cater for students with different levels of practice. We have students who are complete beginners to students who have practised for a few years already, all in the one class!

There is never just one way to practice yoga. We always encourage students to try lots of different variations/levels of the same pose and to move at their own pace, based on their level of experience (or just depending on how hard you want to work that day!). If you’re not sure, simply ask your teacher!

What do I need to wear and bring to class?

There are no specific requirements or ‘yoga clothes’ for class. Simply wear what you would normally wear to do exercise, or just anything that you feel comfortable in that won’t restrict movement.

If you have your own yoga mat, you are welcome to bring your own. Otherwise, studio mats are available for hire for $2 and all other props are provided by the studio. If you tend to sweat easily, you may also like to bring a towel. Water bottles may be filled up at the studio, so please feel free to BYO.

Most importantly, bring an open mind and positive attitude!

Are there changing rooms and toilets available?

Yes. There are toilets across the corridor from the studio, including a disabled toilet for wheelchair access.

Where can I park?

There is ample parking within the Compton Business Park complex. Please note that the front gates to the complex close at 6:30pm sharp – this is for security particularly around evening time. For this reason, please ensure you arrive 10-15 minutes before your class time to avoid being locked out.

Do I need to register or book for classes?

You will be required to register before your first class. You may choose to do this online first prior to your first class or fill out a physical form when you arrive at the studio.

Because our classes are capped at 15 students, you are encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment. You can buy class passes and book classes online once you have registered.

I'm not sure if I will enjoy the classes. Can I do a free trial class or just watch one class first?

We do not offer free trial classes. If you would like to try a class, we offer a flexible drop-in pass option. We aim to make yoga as accessible and affordable to the community as possible, which is why our casual class pass is only $25. New students also have an Intro Offer of 14 days of unlimited classes for only $45. This pass is designed to allow you to experience the studio and try all classes on the timetable.

To respect the privacy of other students, sit-ins are not permitted. If you would like to see what a typical yoga class looks like, you can find short 20-minute online classes on our YouTube channel here.
